5 Major Ways to Support Your Immune System

Did you know? A fever is caused by your immune system, not the invader. When the immune system gets overwhelmed it alerts the brain and the hypothalamus triggers a temperature increase to create an environment that’s harder for viruses and bacteria to survive and thrive. 

Did you know that allergies are tied to your immune system? Yep! Something like pollen or a specific food enters the body and the immune system interprets it as a pathogen and launches a response. It creates antibodies to attack the pathogen, which it sees as a threat. That’s why you see symptoms like coughing, wheezing, itchy eyes, etc.

Unfortunately, as a culture, we tend to only pay attention to our immune system health solely during the fall and winter months. However, it should be our focus EVERY season so we can happily stay above that wellness line - all year round. So, this post is gonna walk us through the basics of how the immune system works, help us recognize signs of a weakened system, and discover 5 major ways you can support it.


How does the immune system work?
 
If you want to strengthen your immune system, you should first have an idea of how it works. So let’s learn a few of the basics. 
 
The immune system is made up of a network of cells, tissues, and organs that work together to protect the body. Its primary job is to keep you safe and healthy.
 
There are two main parts to the immune system - the innate immune system, which you are born with, and the acquired immune system, one that adapts and learns as you age. They are both closely linked and can work together when an immune response is needed. 
 
The innate immune system is the body’s first line of defense. It is primed and ready to fight at all times and consists of things like the skin, eyelashes, and mucous membranes that line the skin’s openings and internal tracts. These all create physical barriers to invaders like parasites, toxins, viruses, pathogens, fungi, and harmful bacteria.
 
There are many types of white blood cells within, or leukocytes, that work to defend and protect the human body, constantly on the lookout for invaders to kill. If the innate immune system gets overwhelmed, it triggers the hypothalamus in the brain to increase the body’s core temperature (fever) and calls on the adaptive immune system* to help us fight.
 
The adaptive immune system is much slower to respond to threats and infections than the innate immune response because it’s only activated when exposed to pathogens. The cool thing about this system is that it uses an immunological memory to make cells (antibodies) to protect your body from a specific invader. In other words, once it’s been exposed to an invader it REMEMBERS it so it can provide long-lasting defense and protection against recurrent infections.
 
This entire process is happening all the time without you knowing it! How crazy is that?! Well, it happens without your knowledge when you’re healthy. The second you start seeing symptoms arise, you’ll know it’s at work. So keep in mind that although symptoms may be uncomfortable, they’re simply proof that the immune system is hard at work, bringing your body back into the balance it craves. 
 
*NOTE: For babies less than one year old who don’t have an adaptive immune system yet, antibodies can be received from their mother via breastmilk or donor milk.


What are the signs of a weakened immune system? 
 
We’ve talked about HOW the immune system works, now we are going to dive into some more practical information. What are the signs of a weakened immune system?
  1. Your stress level is always high. This means your adrenal glands (your stress and energy glands) are shot and your cortisol gas pedal is pressed to the floor (stress hormone). You’re spending way too much time in flight or fight mode, leaving you exhausted. Your immune system will suffer greatly if you aren’t subsequently allowing your body to spend time in rest and repair mode. 
  2. You’re always sick. Typically when a person falls ill, the body’s adaptive immune system creates antibodies and learns how to defend itself against that intruder if presented with it again. If your body seems to “catch” everything that’s going around and continually does that cyclically, your immune system could need some serious attention. 
  3. You have regular stomach issues. Did you know that nearly 70% of your immune system is in your gut? Yep! There’s actually GOOD bacteria present there that supports a healthy digestive system - and immune system. If you’re noticing things like diarrhea or constipation becoming part of your normal routine, chances are your immune system isn’t functioning optimally and your gut health needs work. 
  4. You don’t heal quickly. When your body is injured - like a cut, bruise, or burn - nutrients within the blood rush to the area to help it heal. Quick healing requires healthy immune cells. If your immune system isn’t being properly cared for, your blood may not have the nutrients it needs to rebuild and regenerate like it should, leaving the wound susceptible to further injury or infection.
  5. You battle frequent infections. If you’re noticing things like 5 ear infections in one year, pneumonia twice a year, several cases of sinusitis a year, or finding yourself constantly needing antibiotics… you could have a weakened immune system in serious need of some assistance. 
These are just some of the signs of an immune system in distress. It’s very important that you listen to your body and keep mental tabs on how your body acts and responds to the world around it. Now for some ways to HELP your immune system… 

5 Major Ways to Support Your Immune System
  
1.  Herbs
Echinacea is a great herb to keep on hand. You can typically find an herbal tea that contains it if that’s easier for you. A 2012 study published in Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine found that echinacea showed maximal effects on recurrent infections, and preventive effects increased when participants used echinacea to prevent the common cold. Elderberry is another plant often used for its array of health benefits including its ability to fight colds, the flu, allergies, and inflammation. The ginseng plant (roots, stems, and leaves) is also quite beneficial for immune system support and can play an important role in antibody production. 
 
2.  Foods
Bone broth is an excellent food option for supporting both your immune system AND digestive system. The collagen and amino acids within can help heal tears in the gut lining, which in turn helps the immune system function properly. Ginger is another fantastic food to incorporate on a regular basis. It's known for its ability to help cleanse the lymphatic system and rid the body of toxins and waste. It also helps the body maintain a healthy inflammatory response. Green tea is filled with antioxidants and amino acids that can help you fight germs and stay well. You might also want to keep foods rich in vitamin C like citrus fruits and bell peppers on hand; they provide anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Foods rich in beta-carotene like carrots, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, red bell peppers, kale, apricots, spinach, and collard greens have also been shown to be high in antioxidants, which can reduce inflammation and fight oxidative stress. 
 
3.  Essential Oils
Now, when it comes to essential oils, I only trust one company - the one with the Seed to Seal quality promise - Young Living Essential Oils. Easy Back to School Routines

As parents, we make decisions every day to ensure our family's well-being. But how do we know we are making the best decisions?  Do you ask yourself this question as often as I do?!

You can keep researching until you find the answer you need, or you can take advice from someone you already know and trust.  This is exactly what I did...researched ways to make our back-to-school season easier and asked every experience mom I know for advice.  I compiled everything I learned regarding our routine that will help you.  Ready? Let’s start with our morning…

Morning Routine-
 
Now that your children are rested (and we’ll talk about how to make that happen later), you can get the morning off to the best start with nutrition and complete body support.

Start them off with a nutritious breakfast.  Make sure your breakfast includes a complex carbohydrate and protein to keep those bellies full longer!

Happy Head Spray Recipe
  • 2 oz. spray bottle.
  • 10 drops Tea Tree oil.
  • 5 drops Lavender oil.

  • 5 drops Eucalyptus oil.
Fill a 2oz spray bottle halfway with water (it's best to use distilled or bottled water) and add the essential oils. Shake well before each use. Focus the spray towards the scalp around the ear area.

Topical and Aromatic Wellness-

CONSISTENCY IS KEY.
Back in the day, we did things differently.
Parents would wait until they had to keep their kiddo home from school and then they would go to town, dousing him/her in these magic plant juices.

Now that your kids have the best nutrition in their bellies and are armed with their wellness roll-on, it’s time to support their emotions during and after school.

School can be a rough time for everyone. It is filled with excitement and anxiety. The best way to combat stress quickly is to use essential oils. Remember that when you inhale essential oils, the tiny molecules go deep into the brain, straight to the places that help you manage your emotions.
 
One of my favorite mom tricks is to apply your child's favorite calming oil to a diffuser bracelet. The lava rocks absorb the oil so your kids can smell it throughout the day. Apply 1-2 drops just before school.

Focus- 
Focus for the win!

Whether it’s during school or after, kids are always learning new concepts and need to be able to focus on tasks. 

Teach your kids how to use the Focus Roll-On recipe featured in the graphic. Instruct them to roll on their neck and wrists and to inhale when they need help focusing.
If your school does not allow your child to keep essential oils roll-ons in their backpack or at their desk, you can try two alternatives. 

1) Have the school nurse hold on to the roll-on. Your children can go see her when they need to apply the Focus Roll-On. 
2) Apply one drop of each oil to their diffuser bracelet before they leave for school. Instruct them to smell the bracelet before important focus times like after recess and lunch, and before tests.

I have heard that smelling Lemon oil during a test will help them recall information they retained the last time they smelled Lemon while studying.

Sports-
 

When school starts, a lot of kids do sports. Strains and sprains can be a common occurrence during sports season. 

Most parents' go-to solutions are common OTC medications like Ibuprofen; however, medications like this can have long-term damaging effects on your child's body.  

Instead, try the safe and effective OTC by Young Living called Cool Azul Pain Cream. It provides cooling relief from minor muscle and joint aches, arthritis, strains, bruises, and sprains. A little goes a long way. Apply as often as needed.

Try these four steps in your Night Time Routine--
Step 1
Start with a bath. Baths can be a great way to calm your kids down before bedtime. 
Use the KidScents Shampoo and KidScents Bath Gel. They are free of harmful chemicals.
 
Step 2

Back to School Wellness Guide

So...my kids went back to school last week.  We were sad to hang up our beach bags but ready to return to our routine and our sweet friends and teachers at school.   

This school year, your kids may be heading out the door or heading back to school, the “homeschool room” or the kitchen table. Either way, they will still need support. So let’s chat about a few things to have on hand.

According to Rachel Dawkins, M.D.with Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, “Sleep is an essential part of everyone’s routine and an indispensable part of a healthy lifestyle. Studies have shown that kids who regularly get adequate sleep have improved attention, behavior, learning, memory, and overall mental and physical health. Not getting enough sleep can lead to high blood pressure, obesity and even depression.” Children ages 6-12 should get 9-12 hours of sleep a night. Children ages 13-18 should get 8-10 hours a night. 
 
Establishing a consistent bedtime routine is important, ideally starting at the same time every night. Here are some tips to establish this healthy routine...
  • Stop use of electronics/screens at least an hour before bed
  • Read a short book or excerpt from a book
  • Limit caffeine 
  • Take a warm bath
  • Dim the lights
  • Use your oils and supplements

Before we end this class, I want to ensure you have some tips and tricks on handling falling below the wellness line. Unfortunately, it’s part of life. However - it is how our bodies learn to “fight.” According to the National Center for Biotechnology Information, “Once the body has come into contact with a disease-causing germ for the first time, it usually stores information about the germ and how to fight it. Then, if it comes into contact with the germ again, it recognizes the germ straight away and can start fighting it faster.” This is why it’s so vital that we continually support our immune systems, especially if they have been threatened and are in a weaker state. 
 
A detox bath is one of my favorite things to do when anyone in our house is showing signs of going below the wellness line. This can be a great way to help restore the body, thanks to the ingredients within. Himalayan pink salt removes toxins from the body through a process called reverse osmosis. It also contains very high levels of minerals - like magnesium, calcium, copper, iodine, iron, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, selenium, sodium, and zinc. Activated charcoal is also powerfully detoxifying. It also deodorizes, purifies, and is anti-bacterial. Add in the essential oils, a mix made with love that you and your kids will surely enjoy. Be sure to drink plenty of water after a detox bath to help your body replenish and stay hydrated. 
 
Detox Bath
  • ½ cup Himalayan pink salt
  • ½ cup activated charcoal
  • 3 drops Lavender
  • 2 drops Frankincense 
Combine all ingredients in a glass bowl or jar. When ready to use, add 3 TBSP to ¼ cup to a hot bath. Soak for at least 20-30 minutes. 
 
After you or your kids have taken a soak, it’s important to oil up and use your supplements. Here are some great ones to have on hand...

Making up rollers is so convenient and helpful, especially during the school year. Wellness NingXia Red Shot
  • 1 oz. NingXia Red
  • 1 drop Thieves Vitality
  • 1 drop Copaiba Vitality
PB & J Smoothie
  • 1 cup mixed frozen berries
  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 2 T. almond butter
  • 1/2 T. ground cinnamon
  • 8 oz. unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 oz. NingXia Red
Add all ingredients to blender and enjoy! 


NingXia Red Gummies
  • 1 cup organic juice
  • ½ cup NingXia Red
  • 4 T gelatin
  • 3 T honey
  • 4-6 drops Orange Vitality 
Directions
  1. In a saucepan, heat juice and honey on low heat.
  2. When liquid is hot, add gelatin one tablespoon at a time. Use an immersion blender (or briskly whisk by hand) until gelatin is well-absorbed and thickened.
  3. Remove from heat and add essential oil.
  4. Pour into silicone molds and refrigerate until the gummies harden (about 3-4 hours).
  5. When firm, remove gummies from molds and enjoy! Store in a cool, dry place. 

It is important to note that essential oils are not designed as a one-time use kind of product. They are PART of our wellness toolbox and are best utilized by our bodies when they’re used regularly and consistently. Most body systems take about 3 months of consistent and specific support to rejuvenate them. So use them every day; make them part of your daily routine and your kids’ routines. This will also help empower your kids to use their oils on their own as they grow and become adults. 
 
Tips for Using Your Oils Daily
  • Have your oils OUT and visible. If your oils are stored deep in a cluttered drawer they will be out of sight, out of mind. Keep them on a stand, a shelf, on a counter, wherever you will SEE them and use them.
  • Label and/or organize your oils. Group them in similar colors or organize them alphabetically. You could even set them apart based on certain health needs you have. 
  • Make rollers. Rollers provide a quick, convenient way to dilute your oils and have them ready for application whenever you or your child has a need. Plus, they fit in backpacks, purses, pockets, anywhere! And they empower your kids to use them when they recognize their need for them.
  • Pair your oils with other daily activities you’re already accustomed to. Set a roller by your toothbrush so you apply it every morning. Have a bottle of oil and a carafe of water sitting next to your diffuser on your bedside table so you don’t forget to diffuse at bedtime. Set rollers or sprays near the backdoor where you store your shoes or purse and use them on your way out. You can do this...get creative!

Now for an easy peasy favorite...Bath Soaks!
 
Bath soaks are an easy and useful gift. If someone doesn't have a bathtub they can use this as a foot soak. 

Women often spend more time caring for others than they do caring for themselves. A gift like this will go a long way because it gives them the opportunity to give some self-love. 

INGREDIENTS
2 bags Chamomile tea
1 c powdered milk
1/4 c cornstarch
1/4 c baking soda
10+ drops of your favorite essential oil {or to preference}

DIRECTIONS
Mix dry ingredients & whisk in essential oil until smooth.
Add mixture to jar & allow to "marinate" for 24 hours.

Another fun and easy one...Soothing Scrubs.
 
I know you see this DIY all the time but that is because it's SOOO good and super simple...believe me, cause when its not...I'm a D-I-Buy girl all the way. Lol. 

Body scrubs make your skin look refreshed and rejuvenated by removing dead skin cells. Exfoliation also helps moisturize as it allows for the easy absorption of a skin moisturizer into your now healthy skin. Be sure to avoid applying too much pressure when using your scrub. Use a body scrub a few times a week. 

ENERGIZING BODY SCRUB
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1-2 bags worth of peppermint tea 
  • ¼-½ cup Jojoba oil
  • 15 drops Orange 
  • 3 drops Cypress (optional) 
  • 1/4 - 1 tsp beet juice (optional)
Mix the ingredients in a mason jar, tie a ribbon around the top, print off a recipe note card and gift it to someone special. 

 
And last but most certainly not least...Picture and a goodie!
 
In the mid-1820s, Nicéphore Niépce first managed to fix an image that was captured with a camera. It took at least eight hours or even several days of exposure in the camera to capture one very crude image. 

Now we can take 50 pictures in a matter of a few seconds with a camera we carry around in our pockets. 

One of the best ways to celebrate a woman for her hard work is by taking advantage of this advanced technology to capture a precious moment and give her a memento she can cherish for a lifetime. 

Print out her favorite photo or one that will melt her heart. She won't forget this gift because it will keep reminding her of the love she has in her life. Your Guide to the DIY Summer Social

This post will give you some cool summer secrets and teach you how to use AMAZING Young Living products to enhance your summer experiences!

Every good meal starts with a yummy starter, so let's begin with some appetizer recipes. Appetizers give your guests teaser bites of delicious flavors while they mingle and wait for the main course! Put all those garden-grown and farmers' market veggies to great use with these recipes! 


Lemon- Lime Guacamole
  • 2 ripe avocados, seeded and mashed with a fork
  • 1-2 T red onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed/minced
  • 1/2 to 1 drop Lemon Vitality Essential Oil
  • 1/2 to 1 drop Lime Vitality Essential Oil
  • 1 small Roma tomato, diced
  • 1 t fresh cilantro leaves, finely chopped
  • Salt to taste

Directions: Add avocado to a small mixing bowl. Mix into the avocado the red onion, crushed garlic, diced tomatoes, chopped cilantro, and salt to taste. Add a little of the lemon and/or lime essential oil (use the dilution tip we gave you) and taste; add more to taste. Serve with tortilla chips.
Onion trick: To remove some of the bite of the red onion, soak the chopped onion in warm water for five minutes and then remove from the water.

Super Easy Blender Salsa
Combine the following in a blender:
  • ¼ of a 28-oz can of organic diced tomatoes
  • cilantro to taste
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 jalapeño pepper
  • 2-3 drops Lime Vitality Essential Oil
  • 3 tsp sea salt
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • ½ white or yellow onion, minced
Blend/pulse until onion is in small pieces, add the rest of the can of tomatoes, pulse a few more times, and you’re ready to go!

Homemade Grapefruit Vinaigrette Dressing
  • 3 T grapefruit juice from the can, or 3 T fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tsp honey
  • 1 or 2 drops Grapefruit Vitality Essential Oil, to taste
  • Pinch of salt and pepper

Mojitos
  • 2 shots rum
  • 1 shot agave syrup
  • 1/2 squeezed lime
  • Sprig of mint
  • Splash of soda water
  • 1 1/2 cup ice
  • 2 drops Spearmint Essential Oil
  • 4 drops Lime Vitality Essential Oil
Directions
  1. Use a muddler to muddle your mint in the bottom of your glass.
  2. Blend all other ingredients in the blender. Pour into glass and serve with a slice of lime on the glass.

I'm always looking for delicious alternatives to artificial flavors and drinks with tons of sugar. This recipe is easy and delicious; the kids will love it. They also incorporate essential oils like...

Lemon Vitality: Supports your digestive, immune and respiratory systems.
Lavender Vitality: Supports the cardiovascular and nervous system.
 
Lavender Lemonade
Ingredients:
  • 14 cups water
  • 1 cup lemon juice
  • 1 cup demerara sugar or any other natural sweetener substitute 
  • 8 drops Lemon Vitality Essential Oils
  • 1 drop Lavender Vitality Essential Oils
Directions:
Mix all ingredients in a gallon container. Stir until sugar is completely dissolved. Chill and serve over ice. 

Time to eat!


Grill Marinades
Store-bought marinades have a shelf life, which means the ingredients lose freshness every day they sit there, and at the same time, the flavors lose their intensity.
The secret to mastering marinades is in knowing the effect of various marinating durations.
Marinating for two hours or less will impart a surface flavor.
For a fully infused flavor, marinade for 8-24 hours.
NOTE: The thicker the meat, the longer it takes to absorb the flavor. 
Here are a couple of my favorite marinade recipes. They’re full of flavor AND free of any preservatives and include the following oils:

Lemon Vitality & Lime Vitality supports your digestive, immune, and respiratory systems.                     
Coriander Vitality supports your digestive and hormonal systems.   
Black Pepper Vitality supports your digestive and nervous systems.

Is anybody here a taco fan? Check out this killer Chicken Marinade!
  • Juice of 2 limes
  • 1⁄3 cup olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1/2 cup lightly packed fresh cilantro leaves, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 drops Black Pepper Vitality Essential Oil
  • *2 drops Lime Vitality Essential Oil
Mix the above ingredients together. Allow chicken to marinate for 2-6 hours.
*Avoid plastic when using citrus essential oils.   

Here's a delicious shrimp marinade that is perfect for those shrimp kabobs!

Shrimp Marinade 
Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 drops Lemon Vitality  Essential Oil
  • 2 drops Coriander Vitality Essential Oi

Desserts


No meal would be complete without dessert!
Citrus Coconut Popsicles are the perfect way to cool down on those HOT summer nights!
Lime Vitality supports your digestive, immune, and respiratory systems.
Citrus Fresh Vitality supports your immune system. 

Ingredients:
  • 1 can of full-fat coconut milk                                          
  • 1 cup of orange juice or orange pineapple juice (Get creative!!!)        
  • 1/3 cup (or to taste) agave or sweetener of choice
  • 1-2 drops of Lime Vitality or Citrus Fresh Vitality Essential Oil
Directions:     
  • Blend coconut milk, agave, and Lime Vitality Essential Oil.
  • Pour mixture into popsicle mold, dividing evenly.
  • Place in freezer for 10 minutes; then top with juice
  • Freeze again for 30 minutes.
Insert popsicle sticks. Continue freezing until firm.

Outdoor Spray
Hot summer evenings outside are best enjoyed annoyance-free. Check out this awesome-smelling outside spray that will keep your evenings much more enjoyable. 

Ingredients:
  • 2 oz Witch Hazel
  • 2 oz distilled water
  • 20 drops Thieves Essential Oil
  • 20 drops Lemon Essential Oil
  • 20 drops Rosemary Essential Oil
  • 20 drops Citronella Essential Oil 
Mix together in a 4oz spray bottle.
Keep away from the face when you apply.

BONUS: This can also be a great diffuser blend for the back patio or camper! Use two drops of each oil with water in your diffuser. 


Soothing Stick
If you forget to apply your outdoor spray, don’t worry. I have your back. This is perfect for kids!

DIY Soothing Stick
  • 5 drops Lavender Essential Oil
  • 5 drops *Purification Essential Oil
  • 3 drops *Peppermint Essential Oil 
*Leave the Peppermint and Purification out of this recipe if using on children 2 years old or younger.
Combine these magical essential oils in a 10 ml roller and fill the rest with V6 complex oil or your favorite carrier oil. Apply this soothing stick roll-on to any areas you need and as often as you need it.
 

Floating Citronella Candle
 
Spruce up your summer social with this beautiful DIY citronella candle. It is not only EASY, but it will change the look of any table, AND it actually WORKS!  
 
Did you know that many store-bought citronella candles don't contain citronella oil? Instead, the candles are often just citronella ‘scented.’ BIG difference.  
 
Supplies
  • Glass bowl or container
  • Decorations of your choice. You can use anything! (Lemon peels, orange peels, cinnamon sticks, lavender, rosemary, flower petals, river rocks, etc.)
  • 20 drops Citronella Essential Oil
  • 10 drops Lemongrass Essential Oil
  • 1 T Witch Hazel
  • Water to top off glass bowl or container
  • 1 unscented floating candle
Instructions
  1. Gather decorations and arrange in a bowl. I recommend cutting them into two-inch pieces so they don’t bunch at the top of the bowl or cause it to overturn.                                       
  2. Add Witch Hazel, Citronella, and Lemongrass Essential Oil to the bowl.
  3. Fill in the remaining bowl space with water.
  4. After placing your bowl outside, top it off with the floating candle and light it to create a cozy, aromatic ambiance you and your guests can enjoy throughout the evening.
Fun fact about Citronella Essential Oil! There are quite a few recipes out there to create your own aluminum-free deodorant with citronella. (We will save those for another class.) Meanwhile, did you know that the aluminum in deodorants has been linked to health problems, including the neurological damage associated with Alzheimer’s disease, and conditions like anemia, Lou Gehrig’s disease, glucose intolerance, memory problems, and Parkinson’s disease? GROSS!
 
 

Playtime Balm
Ok this DIY is a little more complicated but definitely worth it! I promise. This will have you ready for all those mishaps that summer can bring.

Playtime Balm 
Ingredients:
  • ¼ cup coconut oil
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 1 T beeswax
  • 10 drops Lavender Essential Oil
  • 10 drops Frankincense Essential Oil
  • 5 drops Myrrh or Helichrysum Essential Oil
  • 1 drop Peppermint Essential Oil
  • 5 drops Tea Tree Essential Oil 
Directions:
Melt all ingredients except the oils in a double boiler. When cooled, add essential oils and pour into glass jars or lip balm tubes. Allow to harden.
Apply to knees, elbows, and any other place that might need a little extra love.
